Let’s talk chalk.

In honor of Earth Day 2021, dozens of Southern Highlands residents recently showed off their artistic talent and creativity by participating in the Chalk About It – chalk art challenge.

With a theme of “For the Love of Spring,” Chalk About It was a challenge that the family could do together – and they sure did. Providing an opportunity to show community spirit and get creative, the socially distant and family friendly sidewalk chalk challenge invited residents to create a spring-themed chalk masterpiece on the sidewalk or in the driveway of their house. For residents who needed chalk, free chalk was made available at the Olympia Management Services office. Upon completing their chalk work of art, participants then uploaded their submission to the Southern Highlands website for entry in a contest. Prizes were awarded in four categories: Family, Adult Solo, Facebook, and Instagram.
