Ladies’ Pink Tee Puts the Fun in Fundraising…and Raises $30K for Local Breast Cancer Organizations

Dressed in pink and ready for a “swinging” good time, more than 150 women joined in the fun at this year’s Pink Tee, Southern Highlands’ annual ladies-only giggle golf and social event held each October to raise money for breast cancer organizations throughout Southern Nevada. Now in its 16th year, the Pink Tee has raised a total of more than $200,000 since its inception in 2002.

This year’s Pink Tee—held on October 12 at the beautiful Southern Highlands Golf Club—echoed the success of last year’s event, raising over $30,000. Of that, $7,250 will be used to purchase wigs for breast cancer patients through the “Buy a Box for Locks” initiative.

Other local beneficiaries include ORION Cancer Foundation, The Caring Place, Roseman University College of Medicine, and the Nevada chapter of Susan G. Komen.

Presented by the Southern Highlands Charitable Foundation, MJ Christensen Diamonds, Saks Fifth Avenue, Greenspun Media Group, Olympia Management Services and WG Communication Group, this year’s event featured a 9-Hole “Shoot for the Cure” golf scramble, followed by shopping, cocktails, dinner—and a costume contest, with celebrity guest judges including Chippendales and Pro-BMX biker Ricardo Laguna.
